Removable partial dentures rehabilitate the partial absence of teeth. It has a metal frame that gives it a strong and rigid base, which is supported on the remaining teeth, this allows it to be stable and comfortable during use.
This specialty aims to rehabilitate the function and the patient's dental aesthetics through different types of prostheses, which can be fixed or removable. The prosthesis can rehabilitate from just one tooth, the until even the whole mouth.
THE Total prosthesis of the upper and lower arches, popularly known as "denture", rehabilitates each dental arch where there are no teeth left. It can be removable, or fixed supported by implants.
Fixed unitary prostheses can be made over teeth or over implants.
These prostheses are usually made of porcelain for better aesthetics and strength.
The prosthesis is made over a tooth, when there is a great structural loss, which can occur due to caries, or also by fractures, and a resin restoration may not work well.
